A property-of sticker is a public claim of ownership. It deters theft, identifies returns, and provides a contact channel for found items. We print Property-Of stickers in any of the three tiers with your name, logo, contact information, and optional serial number. Tamper-evident construction is standard for retail loss-prevention and tool-rental programs.
Property of stickers for equipment
Equipment that leaves the building needs an ownership mark that survives the trip. For tools, generators, carts and field gear, use the Strongest tier: 12-mil plastic, a 3.5-mil permanent adhesive that bonds to powdercoat and textured plastic, and a 6-mil overlaminate rated 5+ years outdoors. The Property Of line, your logo and your contact details sit under that overlaminate, where they will not scratch off.
Add a serial number and a barcode to the same sticker and it also works as an asset tag. Sequential numbering is free.
Property of labels for IT and computers
For laptops, monitors, docks and peripherals, the Stronger tier is the common choice. It is 5-mil vinyl with full-color print under a 3-mil clear overlaminate, and it survives wiping and daily handling. Chromebooks and textured plastic cases need the Strongest tier to stay put.
A proven layout for issued laptops puts a Property Of line with your organization name on the visible face, a serial number below it, and an optional return contact line. If you also want to know when a device has been opened, add a separate VOID-residue seal across the bottom screw line.
For IT audits, VOID-residue labels are the standard, because the message stays on both the device and the label if anyone peels it.
Property of labels for schools and campuses
Schools put ownership marks on Chromebooks, projectors, instruments and library items, and those items get handled by students every day. The Stronger and Strongest overlaminate is rated against isopropyl alcohol, ethanol and the quaternary-ammonium disinfectants schools use, so wiping a device down does not wipe the label off.
Print your district crest in full color at no charge, and add a prefix for each school site to the serial number so every building can audit its own inventory. Place laptop labels on the lid corner, not the palm rest, so they are not worn off.
