Strong Asset Tags
Tracking software

The tag is half the program. The other half is the software.

A custom barcode or QR tag has to point somewhere. We don't sell tracking software ourselves, but we have shipped tags into hundreds of programs running on every major platform. Here is the honest picture of what works.

How the tag and the software work together

  1. 1. The tag carries the identifier. A serialized barcode, QR code, or human-readable number unique to that asset.
  2. 2. The software stores the record. Location, custodian, purchase date, value, service history, depreciation.
  3. 3. Scan or look up. Phone scans the tag, looks up the record. Or look up the record, find the tagged asset.
  4. 4. Update events. Tag is scanned on check-in, check-out, service, audit. Each scan writes a record event.
  5. 5. Audit cycle. Annual or quarterly audit walks the floor, scans every tag, reconciles the inventory.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build or sell tracking software?

No. We focus on producing the physical tag that survives the asset. We will happily recommend platforms that pair well with our tags for your specific use case.

Will my software scan your QR codes?

Yes. Every QR code scanner (smartphone camera, dedicated scanner, software platform) reads standard QR codes regardless of who printed them. We follow the QR Code standard exactly.

Can the QR code embed asset data or just a URL?

Both. Static QR codes can encode a fixed asset record or URL. Dynamic QR codes redirect through a service, so you can update the destination later without reprinting.

How do I get my asset data out of a spreadsheet into a real system?

Every platform mentioned above accepts CSV or Excel import. As long as the QR code points to a unique asset ID that exists in both systems, the migration is one-to-one.

Tags first. Software second.

The right tag survives a software migration. Order the tag, pick the platform later.
