Asset tags for laptops, monitors, desktops, and peripherals.
Computer asset tags get a different beating than equipment tags. Daily handling, dock plates, disinfection wipes, sometimes a backpack pocket. Stronger-tier vinyl with overlaminate handles all of it.

Recommended sizes + placement
Laptops
1 by 0.5 inch. Lid corner, not the palm rest. Pair with a tamper-evident chassis seal across the bottom screw line for unauthorized-teardown detection.
Monitors
1 by 0.5 inch. Back of bezel, top center. Avoids the VESA mount area and keeps the tag visible to the auditor.
Desktops + workstations
1.5 by 0.75 inch. Top of the chassis where airflow doesn't pull dust over the print. For floor-standing workstations, place high enough to read without crouching.
Peripherals (docks, KVMs, hubs)
0.75 by 0.5 inch. Top surface where cable bundles don't hide the tag. For docking stations, prefer the back face if the dock is permanently positioned.
Common computer-asset tagging patterns
- Pattern A — Serial + barcode: Sequential serial number plus matching Code 128 barcode. Standard for IT helpdesk lookup and audit scanning.
- Pattern B — Serial + QR: Sequential serial plus QR pointing at the IT asset record. Smartphone-scanned audits without dedicated hardware.
- Pattern C — Property-of + serial: “Property of [Org]” on the visible face, serial number, optional return-contact line. Best for issued laptops that leave the office.
- Pattern D — Tamper-evident chassis seal: Separate VOID-residue seal across the bottom screw line. Detects unauthorized teardown without affecting the visible asset tag.
Frequently asked questions
Will hand sanitizer and disinfection wipes lift the tag?
No. Stronger-tier overlaminate is rated against isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, and quaternary-ammonium disinfectants used in IT and clinical disinfection cycles.
Will the adhesive damage a laptop chassis if we redeploy the device?
No. Our permanent adhesive (on Strongest tier) and our standard Stronger adhesive both remove with isopropyl alcohol after warranty re-imaging. They do not leave permanent residue on painted aluminum or magnesium chassis.
Can we get our IT department's logo on the tag?
Yes. Full-color logos are free on Stronger and Strongest tiers. We routinely co-brand district crests, university seals, and corporate IT logos.
Stop replacing labels. Start trusting them.
Send us a photo of where the tag has to live. We ship samples in the format and size you'd use. No setup fees, low minimums, no obligation.
